Our Story

At Happy Hearth, bread isn’t just food—it’s joy, tradition, and an art form.


Hi, I want to welcome you into my world of fresh-baked artisan breads that are delicious and good for you, too.  

My appreciation for baking began when I was a little girl living in a small Bavarian village with my family. It was there on the Left Bank of the Main River where many beautiful memories were made in the local bäckerei that smelled of fresh bread straight from the oven. A warm kaiser roll or slice of thick rye bread was more than a treat—it was a slice of happiness. 


Later, life brought me to the charming villages of western France, where the boulangeries reawakened my passion for the artistry of fresh bread. There’s nothing quite like the crisp crust of a baguette, the fluffy elegance of brioche, or the melt-in-your-mouth delight of Pain au Chocolat. French breads are unmatched, and they became my emblem of a contented life. It was also during my time in France, when I learned the art of crêpe-making and it's a tradition I’ve carried forward to this day. Crêpes even found their way onto the menu of my first business, a little bistro in the college town of Silver City, New Mexico, which I proudly opened at the tender age of 21.


Life has been an eclectic adventure, from more travels abroad to professional milestones, including owning a successful wine bar and bottle shop with more than 100 curated labels from around the world. There, we paired our fabulous wines with—you guessed it—fresh French bread.  


More recently, a bread-baking class with a notable French baker reignited my dream of creating a boulangerie right here at home, and voilà- Happy Hearth was born.


At Happy Hearth, I use 100% organic ingredients to bring authentic French and international bread to you: baguettes, rustic boules, bagels, challah, biscuits, scones, and more. Each loaf carries the heritage, care, and joy that has defined my journey.
